Publix is one of the largest employee-owned companies in the world. Due to the same reason, people love working at Publix. Being myself an ex-associate and my partner (Mike) who is currently enrolled with the company can vouch for the fact that Publix is definitely a company worth to work for.
There are lots of benefits of working with them and I am going to share some of the main reasons for that too. I have tried to make the list unbiased and completely objective for you guys. Moreover, I have also interviewed some of of the Publix employees working in various departments.

I am not making this thing up, I have interviewed some of the existing employees of the company and they’ve raved about the working environment and culture there. Here are some of the word’s employee’s themselves;
David – (Meat Manager)
I started at Publix as a clean-up boy in the meat department when I was 19 years old. I knew right away that I wanted to make the meat department my living. I enjoyed the atmosphere. It was hard work, but when you love what you do it’s not work at all. I’ve been a Meat Manager now for 10 years, and I was right. This is where I belong!

I am a Deli Manager, and I say that with great pride. I love working at the Publix Deli. It is very challenging, and I tackle each challenge with enthusiasm. I see everything as a growing experience. You get to meet people from all walks of life and learn new things about them.

Promotions and Growth
It has a culture of promoting the already working individuals. They believe in rewarding the existing team of people than hiring the new for the higher positions. There are lots of cashiers, baggers, stock clerks, bakers, meat cutters, and decorators have become managers or joined the corporate support team.
Friendly Managers
If you are good worker and delivers on time then you’ll be taken care of. Our co-founder Mike will vouch for that. If you get stuck in your work or are confused then your managers will come forward and teach you without belittling you. They can even help you to excel in your career overall.
A sense of Community
Publix is build on the principle of community. They all are contributing together for the greater good. The philosophy of founder was “We’re not only in the grocery business, we’re in the people business.” The central idea of Publix is to work for the people and care for each other.

Unlike most of big companies, ideas are well-appreciated and welcome here. If you have a unique idea then you may share it with your managers and they will consider surely give a thought to your idea and may even apply it.
Open Door Policy
Open Door policy keeps the employees at ease as you are free to reach out to management without formal appointments. You can simply go and discuss your issue with the management. You may also provide feedback to the higher management about various things. As employees are also the owner which is why their feedback is used to improve the business’s practices.
